MoCEP is a not-for-profit Missouri corporation comprised of approximately
350 emergency physicians. The primary purposes of our organization are:
- To establish standards of emergency medicine.
- To encourage and to implement the training and continuing education of emergency physicians.
- To study and to analyze socio-economic aspects of emergency medical care.
- To promote education of the general public and of patients who may require emergency care.
- To promote research, which will result in improving emergency medicine.
- To promote coordination of community emergency care facilities and personnel.
- To promote policies, which preserve the integrity of private practice.
- To promote official community state and national representation for emergency medicine in organized and academic medicine.
- To promote the establishment of full and autonomous emergency departments within all hospital and medical staff structures providing full-time emergency department coverage by emergency physicians.
- And generally to promote the improvement of the practice of emergency medicine.
